Our monthly Cake Club has been designed to give 8-14yr olds the opportunity to learn key decorating skills in a fun environment
Junior Cake Club runs monthly on a Sunday from 10am - 12.30pm (see drop down list for dates)
Suitable for children aged 8-14 years with some cake decorating experience (NOT suitable for complete beginners)
After many many requests from parents, I'm delighted to finally launch monthly classes specifically aimed at slightly older junior students so that they can spend dedicated time developing their love of cake decorating and baking.
The monthly cake club will run one Sunday morning a month and will focus on teaching key skills that will build on the basic knowledge a child will have from having baked and decorated at home with their families or from attending my children's classes.
Each class will be themed around a specific topic and will feature a variety of different skills and techniques for your youngsters to master. These may include:
Working with different products to cover cakes.
Working with sugarpaste to mould and shape
Using specialist moulds and cutters
Trying out new products
Using edible products to create unique decorations
Being creative and using their imagination to help create decorations
Learning about colours, shapes and arrangements
Learning about how to bake
We will not include every skill in every class but aim to ensure that every child attending feels like they have accomplished something wonderful by the end of the class :)
Each child will go home with their amazing cake /cupcakes or cookies in a box and a certificate of their achievements.
To keep the cost of these classes down, I am not currently offering any amendments to accommodate gluten free/ dairy free / allergies and intolerances. If there is a demand for this, I will consider it for future classes so please let me know and I will see how the repsonse is.
A bit more about my Children's Classes:
I have been teaching children and adults for over 8 years and am fully insured and DBS checked for working with children.
The aim of these classes is to give children the freedom and excitement of working on their own projects to develop their skills and spend more detailed time on this wonderful hobby!
We do not ask parents / carers to stay for the class, however, we will ask that you are contactable for the duration of the class and that you only leave your child of you feel they will be comfortable (and responsible) being left - you are welcome to stay in attandance if you wish - we have limited seating around the sides of the classroom where you can relax whislt the class takes place.
IMPORTANT BOOKING INFORMATION:
This class has been created especially for older children (8+) and have experience of baking and decorating either at home or through atending my classes previously. Please consider your child's capabilities before booking and contact me if you wish to check - I also run school holiday children's classes which are all suitable for younger students or those with less experience.
Basic concepts we would expect from students attending this class would be:
to be able to colour / mix sugarpaste
be able to take instruction on how to use tools and equipment carefully
be able to hold attention for periods of time (most of the class will be spent sitting so it is important that you are happy with this)
be able to behave sensibly and respectfully
All Children's Classes include a non-refunable booking fee of £15.
Cancellations made less than one week prior to the class date will receive no refund.
Please ensure you are able to attend on the date and time of the class you book.
Due to the higher cost of running this class, no sibling discounts are available on this class.
